Hello

For those of you who surf headfi, I did post this there, in case you were wondering (and no, im not trying to clog up TA). and...hey nelson!

ANyway, to the point...my earbuds...my dear dear earbuds...somethings wrong with them. I have MDR-E888LPs by Sony (i think imilk also has a pair? i dunno, someone lost like 4 pairs or somehting here hehe). These buds are known for their midranges, and they are as perfect as can be right now on my buds. However, my left bud is much stronger with the bass. I mean, itll rumble during for an angel ewerk mix. But, my right bud has a much stronger high range. it sounds awfully whack... does anybody have any clue on how to fix this, aside from sending it to sony, who has terrible customer support?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I shall worship you for a whole week. thanks soooooooo much in advance!

P.S. if this helps at all, i use them with the iriver slimx, my computer, and my friends minidisc player. i also have radioshack foampaddies covering both buds. thx!!!

hahah yup thats me i went thru 4 pairs in a year, but i think i have the same problems with my 888's. I had 2 working pairs of them so i sold one pair to my dad so i have the good one.i also had a problem were there was a loose transistor or something so something would rattle...and then i got a problem where sound only came out of one ear...oh and sony doesn't have terrible customer support, i went to my nearest sony center and it took about 10 minutes for them to look at my paperwork and they just gave me new ones

Sell em...go buy Senheisers and never buy head phones again...once you go phones you'll never want earbuds again...

i have sennheisers too...and you gotta admit, you'd never wanna be caught listening to huge headphones like those in school or out in public, they're for my computer and they're not leaving it

hmm, ill think about the sony dealer thing, i guess. i think that they have terrible support (good products thogh) because my sister sent about three walkmans to them a while back, and they never did anything to them! i dunno. one problem though: there is serisouly like no store in sacramento (not close to me, anyway) that carries the 888s, i got them on the net. thanks milk!

lazgti: ive tried phones, they sound awesome, but i dont like htat band. i have a really big head (almost as big as a basketball ) and i always break that band. also, due to my grotesquely oversized noggin (hmmm, good choice of words hehe), that band doesnt feel very good, that is the reason i bought earbuds. but still, i might consider hd580/600 sometime in the future.

I agree the band is shitty...but I have given up on earbuds despite their esthetics...they all sound so harsh and lack the quality sound I like. I hardly ever use a walkman though so I haven't been stuck between a rock and hard spot I guess....I had a nice system in my car so wherever I went I tried to drive to listen...lasted in my car for about a month til some bitch ass homo thugs stole my system. Fahk them! Now I listen to low fi music all the time! SHIT!!!

OK now I am ranting again...damnit I am depressed again...

I travel three hours a day (by train), so I figured I had to get some decent headphones No more earbuds for me, a good pair of headphones sound waaaay better, plus I find them more comfortable They also 'shield' you from outside sounds such as ppl that are sitting right across from you, having annoying conversations on their cellphones ( = )

no dont' worry about it i remember there were NO shops that carried 888's, go on sony site and find the nearest servic center, its not even a real store i went to it to exchange my stuff. when i looked up for the place to go to there were like 10 in my area.

oh and about your sister, i wouldn't actually mail anything in, i want my product back/replaced right away
