[Trance] Zale - Marooned

Hey all... hope the holidays are going well. I've used my free time to make a little more music. Here's my newest song called 'Marooned'. I'm pretty happy with how it is now but I might still do some minor tweaking. Take a listen and I'd be glad to hear any comments.

Thanks!

I really like what you've got here Zale, made for some good listening. If this won't be the final product, then I want to make sure I get the final product.

1) I enjoyed the sounds you used! (albeit I'm using the headphones that came with a sandisk mp3 player.)

1 1/2) I like the structure.

2) I think the sidechained pad/saw is too dynamic. I think when used it adds some drive, which is nice. I think a little of that is actually what a song I'm working on needs, thanks for the unforseen inspiration. (On second listen, it fits good in the main section after the breakdown, but a little too intense for the beginning of the song.)

3) The 16 measures 3:18-3:46 after the breakdown all sound the same. I'd expect the 16 measures that come in at 3:46, with some more emotion right after the breakdown. Just a personal insight. Maybe swap the first 16 after the breakdown with the second 16??

Zale, I dig, can't wait for more!

Hey, thanks for the detailed feedback... it really helped. I've already gone to back work with your suggestions in mind and they're working well. I'll have it uploaded again soon.

By the way, I checked out your music and I'm enjoying it for the second time now. Good work!

Cheers,

Angelo.

Hey,
Nice vibe, the drums sound a bit muted, dunno if they have too much reverb and that's why the dont sound clear, above all the clap. The break, I would use some strings, not big orchestra strings, chamber strings, would add alot of dramatism to the song, indeed. Piano lacks of dinamics, I would add some, so it sounds more melodic and not so mechanical. I like the release, but I think the break did not present it well.
In overall, I like pretty much the whole idea, it needs some tweak ups&better build up imo, add a vocal, and will boost the sound alot, but I enjoyed it, just add more life to that piano line .
Happy new year .
