I need a new mixer because the one I have right now is not good enough for me.

Anyways I was thinking of getting ...

DJM 600
DJM 800
Xone 62
or Xone 92

I mostly would be mixing PsyTrance and probably will get some cdjs in a year or two. So what should I get? Also if there are any other mixers our there that I should consider please say so!

I think if the DJM-800 and Xone:92 are both options, why even bother considering the DJM-600 and Xone:62?

I agree with the above comment. The 800 and 92 are the 2 you should really be looking at.

DJM 800: More assignable midi controls, great built in effects, and rotary option.

Xone :92: Slightly better sound quality, 4 band eq, and LFO filters.

ive been an A&H whore forever, and the 800 might be my next mixer. You cant go wrong with either. as for the rotary option: with the 800 you can buy a conversion kit, whereas the xone you must pick one or the other.

Depends whether he has money to burn The others are great options if he's on a tighter budget. Yeah it's trendy to knock the DJM600 but it ruled the roost for years so can't be too bad. Be careful if buying used, try & find one with light bedroom useage or you could be looking at a hefty repair bill.

Obviously he has the money if he puts the 92 and djm 800 in his list of potential options.

There is no point in buying a dated mixer like the djm 600 if you can afford whats current.

How about DJM 600 vs Xone 32.

had a limited budget and cut down to these 2, which are similarly priced over at my country.

tough choice, used the DJM 600 before and love the 4 channels.

But i have friends recommending the 32 as it has the nice filters.

32 hands down, lets face it people the 600 may still be good but it is outdated technology. If I am not mistaken the 32 can also be used as a controller. PM Clovis, he owns a 32.

As for the original thread, I haven't used the 800, spawnmaster I beleieve is his name owns one so does kimchi, heard its a wonderful midi tool if you're gonna get into ableton.

92 is grand, I've used one before, the 4 eq is rather useful I . I don't own a 92 but I do own a 3D and the eq and main mixer is pretty much the same as the 92 except its 3 eq instead of 4 eq.

I know this sounds bland but ask around people by PM go to the bedroom setup thread and find ppl with the gear. Kimchi has owned both 92 and 800 I believe...

i'm curious too.

as it stands, the Pioneer DJM-800 has the highest quality digital sound processing ever made. the fact that you may prefer the warmth of analog sound that the 92 brings does not make it a better sounding mixer. it's a "different" sounding mixer, especially when you're using CDJs, which are digital to begin with.

The digital/analog thing has been beaten to death.

With the DJM-800, and CDJ's with digital outs, you have direct CD quality sound going into the mixer (provided your source material is good, but you're probably getting 320Kbps MP3's off of Beatport anyway)... from there, the mixer processes everything in DSP's and eventually dumps it out the back in analog.

This is a very clean signal path for sure, with a great signal to noise ratio. It's a very transparent signal path, but can sound cold and harsh.

That being said, a high quality analog mixer won't dissapoint either. The top club sound engineers in the world still install analog mixers and use all analog components (minus the CDJ's) in their systems (Shorty, Gary Stewart, Steve Dash, etc.). They often choose the following mixers:
1. Urei 1620
2. Rane MP2016
3. Phazon (for phazon systems)

In cases where they install more "feature" rich mixers, you'll find the Xone:92 to be pretty common.

Mention the words "Pioneer Mixer" to them and they'll flip out, but that's probably because they were burned by the horrid sound that the 500/600 puts out.

Get a 92 or 800 and you won't have to upgrade for at least 5 years.

If money is not a big issue I'd get a 92 and then a Pioneer EFX-1000.
