global warming

whether your political views address it or not, our planet is becoming warmer.

is the lone root of the cause of global warming humans burning fossil fuel?
no, we arent 100% responsible for it, but we are accelerating the natural warming affect our planet fluctuates with over time by our greenhouse gas emissions.

what in your point of view, should be done to help slow down the planets rapidly increasing temperature?

obviously mandating legislation on a world scale is difficult, secular thinking tends to make things worse.

hybrid cars?
renewable energy research?

cite a few examples on what we can do, as a planet.

I try to save energy when are where i can.
Turning off light switches, driving a small engined car, never boiling the kettle full Ect...however there are some problems that cannot be helped...alot of my lights are halogen and i doubt you can get energy saving halogens.

The arrival of the hydrogen cell engines will take some of the strain. From what i've heard, researchers in germany have produced an extremely efficient hydrogen celled engine that rivals that of normal economy cars but all the big oil companies are paying them to keep it under wraps for a few more years...probably bull but whatever.

We all need to do our bit, no matter how small....it all helps.

if the us were to say "yeah were down for being more gas conservative, blah blah blah"

a few countries out of the world wouldnt do much for the global warming problem.

take for instance china, or india. they'd have to go along with some form of cutting back on fossil fuel consumption, and you know they wont do it because it would be too expensive for them to update to cleaner burning things.

Let's start off by looking at yourself.

Do you have any idea how many chemicals are in that fake tan stuff you're been bathing in? One 500ml bottle alone has enough shit in it to burn a swear word into the atmosphere the size of america so everyone could read it from the sky.

(and yeah, use t'tother thread)

I tan very easily anyway, but rarely burn. I put it down to the fact i'm not silly enough to not use suncream. As these "rays" get stronger or whatever, who knows what shit they'll do to us. if the atmosphere is changing, then the dangers to ourselves must be too ?

yeah, if the ozone is getting thinner, more cases of malignant skin cancer are going to increase as well.

the banning of cfcs has helped, but the damage has been done.
