Question Need Help On Equipment

I need help deciding on a few things here. First of I want to get some tables, Technics, but what model should I get? I currently have a Gemini Ps-676 Pro mixer, but should I upgrade? I also want to get a power amp and speakers. I have my eye on the Pyle Pro PT2000. I just got the headfones, sony mdr-v6 I was convinced by Gluegun. I have some Gemini XL-500 but its time to upgrade! Basicly I'm just looking for a nice setup. Thanks for any suggestions here.

The model of Technics you should be looking at is the SL1200 Mk2. (or the 1210 Mk2, they are the same only different colour.) Some people will tell you to get the M3D versions, but this is a waste of money - and extra £50 per deck just to get rid of the click at 0% pitch. You really don't need this. Anyway, pretty much all clubs have the Mk2 so if you want to spin in clubs then you're gonna have to get used to that 0% pitch click.

The 676 is definitely OK to be getting on with. It's a good mixer for it's money, and there's no sense in upgrading that, at least for a year or two. You're going to want to save the £600+ for a really good mixer so you can buy Technics and a wodge of vinyl. Think about upgrading the mixer only when you're completely at home with the Technics and you feel that the mixer is holding you back.

50 quid just to stop a little click?? That's insane!

What do you mean by the click? As in the groove is removed so that you can adjust in tiny increments around the 0% mark a little easier, or am I on about something completely different?

Yes, that's it. You know when you push the slider past the 0% pitch mark, it tries to *click* into place, and the green light comes on. On the M3D, this click isn't there, instead there's a button that you have to press to get the green light to come on, but the slider can be anywhere. This is the most major difference between the Mk2 and the M3D. Apart from the £50 price difference.
