Radio 1 was pleased to announce in July this year that, as part of its specialist schedule changes, Eddie Halliwell and Trophy Twins will be starting brand new shows on the network from end of September.
Eddie will have a weekly Thursday night show at midnight-2am. The Thursday night show starts from Thurs 28th September and will see Eddie spin some of the freshest tunes from his world of energetic dance.
Meanwhile, from Saturday 30th September, The Trophy Twins will start a weekend morning show called 'Radio 1's after show with the Trophy Twins' on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 4am-7am.
Eddie and the Trophy's were signed to Radio 1 in March 2005 to broadcast on the station's new dance show 'The Residency'. The slot saw Eddie and the Trophy's broadcast to the nation on Saturday nights at 3am-5am on a 6-weekly rotation alongside other DJs such as Nic Fanciulli, Jon O'Bir, Plastician, Crissy Criss, Tayo and Kutski. 'The Residency' was designed to ensure Radio 1 continues to champion the most important new dance music genres from the UK, whilst also giving new/emerging talent their first chance to broadcast on national radio. The slot has seen Eddie and the Trophy's flourish as broadcasters meanwhile their respective DJing career was heading into orbit.
Note: From 29th Sept, 'The Residency' changes to 'In New DJs We Trust' on Fridays 2am-4am with Plastician, Tayo, Crissy Criss and Kutski on a 4 weekly rotation.
With Eddie's own UK tour 'Fire It Up' taking off and increasing high-profile international bookings as well as being lauded Mixmag's No.1 DJ. With the new Radio 1 weekly show, it seems like there will be no stopping Eddie. Meanwhile Trophys. named Mixmag's 'Future Heroes' in 2003, have been busy in the studio putting out releases on their 'Pop Pop Records' label and remixing for artists such as Deep Dish and Armand van Helden as well as being recognized as DJs on an International level plus still finding time to be residents for KissdaFunk in Leeds, Dusted in London, and Judgement Sundays in Ibiza.
Eddie said "The Residency has been a fantastic experience for me and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I am overwhelmed at being offered a weekly show and can not wait to get fired into it!

Aged 26 from Wigan, Eddie Halliwell caught the DJing bug at 15, by 2002 he held residencies at Goodgreef and Gatecrasher. In early 2004 Mixmag voted him DJ of the Year 2003. Eddie has toured extensively throughout the world, key moments in Eddie's career were closing Creamfields, debuting at Godskitchen and becoming resident at Judgement Sundays in Ibiza. He also mixed one disc of Gatecrasher Residents Transmission and put out the now legendary Bosh Mixmag CD.
2006 has been Eddie's busiest and biggest to date, being voted Mixmag's DJ OF The Year for the second time, mixing the highly acclaimed Cream Ibiza CD, launching his 'Fire It Up' brand and most recently being given his own weekly show on Radio 1 following the immense success of 'The Residency'. With a main stage appearance at America's biggest festival - Ultra Fest in Miami, four Radio 1 Essential Mixes under his belt and continued rave reviews of jaw-dropping sets at Cream Amnesia and Judgement Sundays in Ibiza, it is plain to see that Eddie has firmly established himself as one of the most talked about and exciting DJs in the world.
