Producing Tutorial Books

Hey guys, Im new to the producing and stuff and i want to learn. I have Cubase and reason and im looking for some sort of book that will help me learn how to use the different parts of the programs since i have no idea what im doing. I came across these and was wondering if they are any good?

PRACTICAL RECORDING 3: CUBASE
and
PRACTICAL RECORDING 7: PROPELLERHEAD REASON

if these arent any good can u recomend some that are?

For a start, hit the user manual that came with the programs. Or, if for some reason your programs didnt come with user manuals ( ), get them. Unlike most user manuals, DAW manuals actually ARE useful and will be more educational than any book.

That should cover the usage of the programs. From this point, you need to learn the important stuff; music theory, mixing, sound design. The internet is a better resource than books will ever be, but if you want to read afk (reading a screen is a pain) I recommend the books by Torsten Fassbender.

For trance, you can't go past this book (if you can even call it a book):

It gives you complete project files and everything so you'll learn 100x faster that just reading a book. I really wish this kind of thing was around when I started
