Vinyl Junkies Promo (Sleeze)
After getting my hands on a copy of the new Vinyl Junkies promo Sleeze, I have to say I was hit with a bit of a good feeling.
What it was in regards to is the state of the local DJ's in Toronto right now.
For the past few years since I moved to Toronto the focus had primarily been on the likes of Deko-ze, Addy, Sydney Blu and the like.
I in no way mean to disrespect any of them because I have had mind blowing nights from those three DJ's as well as many others.
But recently there has been a real upswing of new talent really surging. Nathan Barrato's opening set for Steve Lawler catapulted him miles above where I had held him in my own opinion from seeing him at the zone times before then, and I can honestly say he hasn't let me down since. Sean Miller has been one of the best performers in the city period, headliner, local or bedroom dj. The last two times I've gone to sonic he hands down played better than the headliner.
And most recently I have been impressed with the Vinyl Junkies. I had rarely heard them mentioned before the summer, and all of a sudden I'm hearing them all over the place, and I for one am not upset about that at all!
Their recent promo, Sleeze is top notch, and makes me think that we are in for nothing but good things in the upcoming months.
Well done.
