I don't think I'd bother with the Emu cards unless you're getting the 1212 or 1616. Plus, Firewire is going to give you better performance for audio than USB. Between those two choices I'd pick the M-Audio. Unfortunately they both have crap drivers but not much you can do about that without moving to a higher price range.
