ey how is yeh
Goto Store DJ on Victoria St in Richmond... Store Dj Website
they stock Behringer, Samson, KRK and a few others.
2 doors down from Store DJ is a music store, they also have Samsons which they can demo for u... they have em hooked up to a pc
Also you can try DMC records on Commercial rd in prahran. DMC Records Website
Billy Hydes music stores also stock Behringer from memory
Um, i myself have Behringer Truth B2031A 8" near fields and a massive as hell Behringer Truth B2092A Sub. They are very neautral, and well price. Rather heavy tho, and the sub is fkn gynormous !
If u get the samsons go for the 6A Resolve, it pumps nicer than the 8A imo.
KRK is nice but slightly more costly.
My setup
Note: the sub is under the desk.. yes it takes up the whole space
it doesnt rattle anything either or cause any feedback via carts.
The samson brand monitors are your second option in regards to a monitor that is priced in the same range as the Behringer Truths. If you want to hear them, goto the music store (is it guitar world? its not the drum store) next to store dj, they can show u the 6A and 8A resolves. Suprisingly the 6A is clearer and sounds louder, even the guy in the store pointed it out.
If you want something a lil better than the Behringer/Samsons, try the KRK's out they are lovely, a mate of mine has the 6" rokit ones... very nice, very clear. Krks will cost you more tho. Stanton make a 6" called the ATM6 which is the exact same thing cept different coloring to the KRK 6". Costs like $550 from memory.
If you have lots more to spend then most, get Mackie's... Most of us here would have to sell our limbs on ebay to get a pair of these however
Hope it helps keep me updated on what you choose

KRKs are poo, unless you get the V series (RP = bad). When you listen to them, A/B them with mackies/genelcs any other good monitor and you'll hear how screwed the midrange is. I'd take rubicons over them any day, only downside of rubicons is the ribbon tweeter - has a really narrow space, sound terrible off axis.
Best monitor i've head for a decent price ($800) is the Event TR6s, but I'm waiting to hear a bluesky media desk before i buy them
We get a pretty good deal on Events, in america they're alot more expensive (in comparison to KRK, mackie etc.). |
totally agree, if you get KRK's they have to be the V series.
are the monitors for production or djing? if its for production, then your room layout and knowing your monitors is actually more important than the monitors themselves.
