That's what Doctor Robert Bohannon, a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon says he's developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.

While the product is not on the market yet, Bohannon has approached some heavyweight companies, including Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks about carrying it.

great this gives starbucks a reason to start jacking up the price of the donuts ... in a few months a donut and a coffee will cost more then lunch

Yeah exactly, I highly doubt starbucks would ever pick up a product like this. I've NEVER seen a doughnut being sold there, plus they would probably want rights to the pattern rather than sell a FATTIE WATTIE DOUGHNUT - they would want to bastardised it and put a FATTIE LATTIE MOCATTIE STARBUCKS PRODUCT.

Maybe if they made this into a timbit, I would be a full supporter.

Seriously. 2 cups of coffee worth of caffeine in one donut. Consume 4 of those, and you go straight into the ER for caffeine overdose.
