damn, the cd player in 360 died on me

was watching tv with call of duty 2 in 360, suddenly I hear grunting noises from the thing. Next thing it won't play any games or dvd's anymore.

Bleh, hardware that dies in 2 months must be pretty crappy.

Last generation, it was the PS2 that was the lowest quality and most likely to fuck you in the end. This generation, its the 360 for sure. I've heard SEVERAL stores from people with 360's that freeze constantly, scratch games, randomly disconnect from Live, and some dont even recognize wireless controllers.

the manual mentions using the xbox 360 in a smoky or dusty room can damage the dvd drive.

I only smoke inside if I know I'm not going to turn my 360 on for about 4 hrs.

that might or might not be the prob, i just thought I would mention it.

Same thing happened to mine after 1 year... I had to send it in to get fixed. Complete wackness! They wouldnt even tell me what did it either.

ah well, as long as they treat me nice in getting it fixed it's ok. Was just frustrated that something broke down.
