Christian West appreciation thread

I would like to take the time and give some space to Christian West. A producer which not often is mentioned nowadays. He was figurating on several GU compilations in the end of 90s. A great mixture of progtrance/proghouse with some nifty acid riffs thrown in. The kind of stuff which isn't produced nowadays.
Anyone remember this anonymous chap? What is he up to nowadays?
He had some great works under several different aliases such as Eve, Orissa, Kobyashi etc.

Ive only heard Christian West - Eterna, and Quench.

Quench is a prog bomb in my opinion, and Eterna seems to be his most known track.

Some producers just seem to dissapear.

Eve- Riser is one of my favorite trance songs of all time. EVERY time I listen to it, I get paralyzing chills down my spine

i've only ever heard his remixes of natious - flashpoint. part 2 (i think it was part 2? cobalt can prob correct me on that) is one of my favourite all-time trancers.. although i went years thinking his mix was actually the original which is why i never looked into his other stuff

*searches*

F*ck "Eve - Riser" that track really sucks and way overated my choice would be

Christian West - Eterna!!

I reminds me alot of X-cabs, Christopher Lawrence etc. from the Hook label but it's released on Fluid Recordings. Really great track.

I think he's most known for Bullitt - Cried To Dream. Still can't stop listening on it.

Other tracks i like would be Kobyashi - Release togheter with Andrew Byrne and Zenith - Swarm.

"Bullitt - Cried To Dream" is NOT by Christian West & George Thompson at all but by totally different producers, Sam Harris & Ben Harris (cousins) & Dave Billing.. and yes, Discogs has it wrong there. There should also be a Bullitt (3) for West & Thompson's alias.

The Harris cousins are also behind several other aliases. The projects Ben is probably best known for being involved with, are Dirty Vegas and Hydrogen Rockers. Sam's projects, Casa and Caipirinha aren't not that well known tho..

One of the very few Christian West related tracks i actually remember, is Daze - Pure (Kobyashi Dub). Brilliant tune too.

I have 'Eterna' and 'Rotation' on vinyl at home, both great tracks....'Eterna' my favourite though. I also have his track 'Painted Skies' as an mp3, very nice prog house track.

Good thread.
