Ex-Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi claims his estranged wife is spending him into the poor house and slashing his ability to earn a living.
In court documents obtained by the Sun, Domi says his debt has ballooned from "$1.4 million to $1.8 million or $70,000 in the red a month" since he and his wife, Leanne, separated.
"Leanne appears to have drastically increased her spending since the consent order. This in combination with my decreased income, and me being the only source of income for the family, has placed us in a very precarious financial position," Domi alleges in his affidavits.
None of the allegations in the affidavits have been proven in court.
Domi says Leanne is "seeking to exact revenge" but isn't just hurting him in the process.
"She is attempting to ruin my reputation, but does not seem to grasp that, in the process, she is hurting our children and my ability to continue to earn a living," he alleges in the documents.
Domi claims in the documents that his income "depends on my maintaining a reputation not only as a hockey player, but also as an astute businessman with integrity and character.
"The negative publicity and media frenzy surrounding my separation from Leanne has already hurt my reputation. Leanne made this worse by insisting on a restraining order against me, even though I have never been violent towards her or the children," Domi alleges.
So far Domi claims he has lost endorsements "through the bad publicity as a result of Leanne's tactics in this litigation to date."
Domi claims Leanne's assertion of his affair with Belinda Stronach caused Pusateri's to pull from the shelves Rhino Energy Drink, which he has endorsed.
In late November, Bell Canada said it would not renew its contract with Domi -- worth $75,000 in 2006 -- which he says "should have been renewed for $125,000 to $150,000."
Domi is seeking a sealing order on his financial records when his lawyer, Gerald Sadvari, and Leanne's lawyer, Julie Hannaford, return to Superior Court. Leanne hopes to put Domi's company into receivership and restrict his access to his children until the whole family is assessed.
"If me and my company's financial information is made public, my ability to support Leanne and the children could be hurt," Domi claims in his affidavit. "All of my investments, assets and liabilities could be scrutinized and criticized by the media. This could jeopardize the business projects in which I am involved or prejudice my ability to do business in the future."

WHAT HE SAYS
According to an affidavit filed by Tie Domi in court:
- Tie's monthly salary totals $18,269.35 after taxes and withholdings.
- His mortgage payment alone is $18,274.
- He pays $500 a month for a car for his wife's full-time nanny and paid $1,200 for her car repairs.
- All three children are in private school.
- Leanne is taking their two daughters to a high-end hair stylist, costing $150 per child each time.
- He's expecting to receive "payment from Universal Energy for $100,000" for endorsement work.
- Leanne spent $1,060 for "Christmas lights."
- Leanne's family vacation cost $12,000 for one week.
- His Visa has now reached its limit of $100,000.
- He has $52,093 in monthly expenses.
