I've been writing this review for Elektrochemie's "Mucky Star", for over a couple of days now. It's hard to make an article which reflects a general understanding of the material, rather than an in-depth (scientific) approach to the track itself.

When you first listen to James Holden or Nathan Fake's previous material, you would question the meaning of the word "Techno". You would ask yourselves questions such as "What are those sounds?, and "Why did he do that?". Even today, the boundaries of Techno have been broken by incredible producers such as Alex Smoke, Ricardo Villalobos and Michael Mayer to name a few.

There comes a time when a producer stretches the possibilities of dance music; Stephan Bodzin is one of them. Not only is he a solid producer, but along with Schumacher (Elektrochemie), they are gradually shading a different light to the banausive electronic spectrum. If it sounds complicated, wait until you listen to their remix of The Knife's "Like A pen"...
