new pioneer efx unit???

No i'm not announcing anything. Instead i am asking if anyone knows when pioneer is likely to release a sucessor to the efx1000.

I know pioneer guards this info pretty tightly. But if you where to take a guess what would u say.

I ask this becasue tommorrow i am picking up an efx1000. And while i am 100% happy with everyting it does (hence why i'm buying it)i would be upset for a new one to be announced 2 days later.

Has anyone heard any rumours.

ps. I have been searching all over the net for this info. I know you can use the midi on a xone 92 etc to control functions on the efx 1000. But do the midi features on the efx unit allow you to use it as a controller for ableton. - Nothing serious, just mucking around before i can afford a uc33 or similar.

The EFX1000 only came out about this time last year (well, maybe slightly longer ago) so I'd say they're likely to be AT LEAST 18 months off releasing another one, if they do.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start doing VSTs or something instead though, seeing the way the technology's going!

Re. the MIDI, I'm pretty certain you can use it as a MIDI controller... to what extent though I'm not really sure, I haven't tried it yet with mine although I do plan to at some point when I get the chance to have a play!

I'd give it another two or three years before they put out another one. Considering how much the 1000 didn't add to the 500, I can't really see them coming up with anything worth releasing anytime soon.

also considering the amount of time the 500 was out and in use before the 1000 came about
