But the thing is that I'm only just getting into DJing, and even if I had several hundred more to spend on quality gear, I'd have trouble justifying it for a beginner such as myself.

I would really just like to be able to mix with some actual hardware. I got Traktor for free from a friend who didn't want it, so it's not as if I invested a great deal of money into the program or anything. Among other things, having my own cdj's would allow me to mix at school events, which pay fairly decently. I'm not at all devoted to the Gem I talked about earlier, but I would like to get 2 decent cdj's and a mixer, preferably all for under $500. If you have any suggestions for products, that'd be much appreciated.
