my dad has been looking to buy a dell for around that price. u guys know of any good deals or anything else besides a dell for around the same price. i know this is very veuge.. but iv heard bad things about dells and what to give him options.

is he wanting a laptop?
does he have specific uses that are graphic cpu or hard drive intensive ( video editing perhaps )?

you can build quite a good laptop from dell for that. i config'd one on their site for 1200 and it had 1gb of ram, dvd burner, 15"lcd, 1.8ghz core 2 duo, 256mb video card, 80gb hd. what else do you need? it also had the intel wireless abg card and bluetooth 2.0 with edr.
