A delegation of Iran’s officials arrives in Moscow today, March 7, to discuss the terms to go on with construction of the nuclear plant. The contract for constructing the first power-generating unit of Bushehr plant was signed in Tehran January 8, 1995. Then, Russia undertook to supply a VVER-1000 unit, nuclear fuel for it and train Iranian experts to operate the delivered equipment. As agreed, Russia is to launch the first unit in September 2007 and set into motion the power unit in November. The fuel is to be supplied half a year before the actual launch.
