Confused Kings fan view on the Canucks

Ok here's the scoop. The Vancouver Canucks are
the hottest team in the league. If you look at
the league leader stats, you'll see Naslund and
Bertuzzi ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively. The Red
Wings on the other hand are slacking off,... BIG TIME!!!
The Canucks should defeat the Red Wings. I don't see why not.

Meanwhile, for the Canucks to make it past the second
round, they'll probably need some help from the Kings.
If Los Angeles can eliminate the Avalanche, the Canucks
will not have to face the Avs and might end up playing
the Sharks or the Blues in the second round.

You Canucks out there may think I'm on crack, and argue that
the Blues and Sharks are better than the Avs. Allow me
to explain. To defeat two experienced playoff teams such as
the Red Wings and the Avalanche in the same playoff season
is asking for alot, regardless of how they played at the end
of the regular season. So avoiding one of them may be a relief.

I however, would like to see an almost impossible west finals showdown between the Kings and the Canucks. Ultimately, I
think the Canucks are an unstoppable force and should knock
off any team that comes their way. Sure, the Canucks are bound
to lose some games on way, but losing 4 games before winning 4
seems highly unlikely for a hot team like the Canucks.

Right now its 3-3 in the third between Van and Det

I definetly think that Detroit will take the series.
They may not have any scorers in the top 10, but thats because they spread the talent around alot better. To beat Vancouver, stop Naslund and Bertuzzi. To beat Detroit, you have to watch for Yzerman, Shanahan, Fedorov, Hull, Robitaille, etc...

Also, they have been coasting on purpose. They were resting their top players to be readly for the offs.

I have to give Vancouver alot of credit, however, they had an amazing run to the playoffs, and have the momentum advantage over det.

HappyHappy Congrats... nucks' nucks' nucks'...

It was a great game, but it was one of the worse piece
of officiating I have ever seen. Cloutier is my player
of the game. He made more key saves than Hasek. Red
Wings couldn't score on a 5-on-3 power play. How
retarded.

That Larionov goal was so messed up, and so
was the overtime goal. Not alot of nice goals in this
game, except for Fedorov's PP goal, and maybe the
Canucks goal in the early 2nd period. It's like everyone says,
goaltending is the key to winning playoff games and
Cloutier came up big, a number of times.

Back to the overtime goal. It was totally unexpected.
Hey you guys in Vancouver. What was your reaction to
the weird overtime goal that no one saw until the
replay was shown?

lol having no idea where the puck was, i just sat there and stared at the tv waiting for the broadcasters to make the call. the guy goes "...and he scores!!" and i was like WTF!!! jumped up and make a bunch of noise...lol

we played a solid game. didn't take many chances. i looked up on espn and the red wings committed 10 turnovers compared to only 4 for us. this isn't detroit's "A" game but it wasn't ours either. we can STILL kick it up a notch and our powerplay can go up about 2342423 notches. we stunk on the PP and got a lucky PPG on the 5v3.

an ugly win but we'll take it any way we can. i believe detroit will bring it on friday. i just hope the canucks will do that also.

The important thing for the Canucks was that
they got their win on the road. All they have
to do is win their games at home, where they
have been outstanding. Of course you still want
to win game 2 in motown, which would give the
Canucks a huge breathing room. If Cloutier keeps
up the good work and the Naslund/Bertuzzi/Morrision
line steps up, they could win in 5 games.

Some pretty sketch goals but who cares. I really think if our pp can setup and have good puck control, we can win this series. Cloutier played very well in net to. Stood his ground and kept them in it. Just hope the Nazzy line looks a little sharper on Frida night.

I'm cheering for the Canucks too but it looks like somebody lit a match under Hasek. VanCity fans should be worried.

P.S. I know what happened last year with Colorado but booing someone's national anthem is pretty disgusting. You guys need to stop that.

Confused Gotta Love the Canucks!!!

Dan Cloutier did everything right except allowing
that cheap goal that was shot from the red line by
Lidstrom. You've got to admit, playoff atmosphere
is insane, especially for goalies. I hope Cloutier,
learns his lesson and will keep doing what he does
best,....making brilliant saves.

The most probable case scenerio for the Canucks is to
win game 4, lose game 5, and win game 6 in front of the
home crowd. The 11 game unbeaten streak had to come to
an end. To go unbeaten throughout the playoffs is
impossible. The Canucks are human beings, not machines.

Even with the 3-1 loss I was happy to see the Canuck
fans cheering and supporting their team throughout the
whole game. That's something you rarely see. Canuck fans,
you have nothing to be ashamed about. Win or lose, be proud
of your team, cuz a team like that comes once every decade,
sometimes longer. GO CANUCKS!!!
