CDJ1000 MK2 Lifespan

Hi,

I'm curious as to how long you guys have owned and operated CDJ1000 MK2s and if you had problems with them, how long did it take for the problems to occur.

Also I want to ask the same question for a pioneer DJM 500 - I know people who have had this for years but I just want to get a larger sample size for my question.

Please help!

Thanks!

Re: CDJ1000 MK3 Lifespan

Well the mk3s haven't even been out for a year yet, so it's probably too early to tell how durable they'll prove to be.

I would think more than four or five years as long you keep it in good shape...meaning don't spill stuff on it or drop it, and dust it off some...perhaps keep it in a case. It's not quite like a TT, that can take more abuse....CDJs are pretty delicate. I'm only planning to keep mine for another two more years.

I'd hope for a lifespan of at LEAST 6 years for the money.

2 or 3 would really piss me off!

Jarv

PS I have MK3s

I've had one for over 2 years and one for about a year (Both are MKII).

I can't remember which one is which though. I hope they last me many years to come...
