Produced and mastered well etc etc etc... but I haven't heard the original mix.
That being said, the kick is excellent, I don't know how much of this you changed/made but whatever. Anyway, percussions and hats are clear cut and near perfect. I have no real complaints... solid sounds... nice!
The synths provide a nice melody, and the key changes are all solid.
Climax is good... everything sounds well done. Good work.

Thanks for your feedback, DigitalDisaster!
I built up the remix by having the original version on a track in ableton live, then looping sections to work out the notes for the various melodies and progressions. But there's none of the original version in my track, I turned that track off when exporting. I used eight of my synths in this track, I'm really loving the process as opposed to when I was producing with Reason...Reason is beautiful software, no question, but I'm just loving the sounds coming out of these synths!
I have a list of about 25 of my favourite trance tracks I want to remix, to give me plenty of stuff to play (along with my own tracks) when I get out and play live. I'll be posting a few in this forum. (Any requests?)
Thanks again!
Fabian

.A.Y. - can you define "a little weird"? Is it too bassy, too clicky, is the decay wrong...what would you change about it?
Also, while I'm replying, I'll just add that I think I misunderstood DigitalDisaster's comment about how much my remix was different from the original version...I think the question is whether I was trying to remake the original exactly or do my own remix from the ground up...I started out trying to copy the original, so some of the percussive lines fall on the same beats. But then, as one plays around, one finds cool sounds which work over the top of it, cool background melodies which work with the progression, so one puts them in. The overall sound is more towards the bass end.
Any other comments about the kick? I'll have to crank the monitors and see if there's any grit in there I haven't noticed...I put this remix together quite quickly, then put it up on the web...it's great, I can still listen to it and it sounds fresh, unlike the tracks on my album, a process which took about half a year, using my old production methods...
