That brand just sounds cheap and nasty. When i first started dj'ing, everyone told me just to save a lil' bit more for a pair of Sennheiser hd25's and that i wouldn't be disappointed. I took their advice and am very greatful for it. Hd25's are great mainly cause they are small cupped, every part replaceable, crystal clear but most importantly they cut out a s*** load of background noise, which is the most important thing when playing out IMO.

So yeah, if i was you i'd save a bit more for a genuinely good pair of headphones....unless of course you just want some headphones to listen to music on the train or something.

Hope this helps.

I Absolutlety agree about buying quality, i just hadn't heard of that particular brand (They are selling for $150 on Ebay). Am looking at either a set of sony's 700's, or (If i can stretch the budget) Technic 1200 series, Pioneer HDJ-1000's, or (And this is the dream set) HD-25's. Have got a deadset legend friend who is loaning me his 25's for a month or so. Doubt i could stretch the $400+ for a set of 25 Pro's, but am pretty sure i could stretch somehow to get the HD-25SP's if it comes down to it. Anyway, have had a shedload of people tell me the SP's are just as good as the Pro's. Just looking at all options.

*Listening* What was That? Sorry, gotta go, The Decks are calling!

Audio-technica has its ranges, from the budget oriented range to the more expensive.

Their higher end range is classed towards the audiophile market rather than the dj market.

I'm currently using the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 and trust me they are far from cheap and nasty. But they arent suitable for djing, lack of thick low bass attack, not much noise isolation and they are open type of headphones.

Personally i'm not a fan of Sennheiser headphones, i find them to generally lack midrange clarity and any sort of musical definition.

If you want more info go to http://www.headphones.com.au/

technics are nice and so are the sony's

i have the pio hdj1000's and i like them, but dont get them, way too heavy on the head and after a while they start to hurt your ears physically... if u plan on playing for more than 2 hours id recommend the sonys, they cup the ear nicely and are lighter in weight

Senheisser hd25's.... ? man, tell u the truth im not a fan at all... they are tiny as, shitty build quality and break easily.

a mate of mine has them and one ear channel keeps going in and out, even tho it was replaced like a few months back... wires and crap get exposed on them and they just get busted up real easy... i guess the sound quality on them is good, but i wouldnt pay $400 for a pair... id pay $100 for em, thats bout all... if your workin in a studio and need em in there for some reason, then ok they would be great, but besides that they are too fragile for my liking

HD25s $200 delivered from the UK. Anyone who pays 400 for em is a tool. PS, they're uncomfortable but I don't think they're made for comfort!

hmmm not sure why u think that Vman but i have had sony's and technics (not the current model tho)and have had both break/blow.. had one pair of HD 25's for the last six years and never missed a beat.. best headphone in terms of sound and build quality by a mile.

I actually dont know anyone who owns HD25's that has ever had a problem.. (not to say noone ever has but just from all the dj's i kow that use em)

Plus if there is an issue u can by them part by part so u dont have to replace the whole thing.

Sony 7506 or Sony V6

They are effectively the same headphone, cheaper than the others but arugably better. Definitely sturdier than most. Excellent sound, extremely comfortable. You'll find a lot of people in the DJ Booth section love these headphones (I'm one of them).

From what I've heard the main problem with the Technics DH-1200's (as opposed to the DJ-1200's) is that they're quite heavy, otherwise they're meant to be pretty good.

I wouldn't go for the Sony V700's.

Well i have to admit i am quite taken with the HD-25's. The only issue i have with them is the cost ($400-$500 here in Aus). Am currently having a look O/S to see if i can pick them up cheap enough to make it worthwhile shopping over the net.
