Hey, I had a listen to Stepgnome. Very interesting tune, melodies are very well thought out and have a slight sphongled feel to them. Percussion doesnt go that well with it thought I thought. Some of those highhats feel like they are off the beat. Mastering could be better... it sounds very quiet. Otherwise, good elaborate tune =) |
A big thankyou for listening and commenting. About those highhats. There's a lot of polyrhythmics going on, I don't know what else you could mean by them being off the beat.
Mastering... Well, we just decided to try something different from the 4/4 dancefloor standard: Aiming for dynamics. So yeah, the earlier parts of the song don't play at maximum volume. That, at least I think so, increases the impact of the final part which does. Or did you mean something else?

Well, it's not intended to be chillout, but, well dynamic.
But, of course, not all creations fit all tastes :)
