Armada launches a new CD concept: Armada Trance. The best Trance hits of the moment Mixed by great DJ's on two CD's. The first edition contains hits from: Marco V, Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren vs. Rank 1, Cosmic Gate, Andy Moor vs. Orkidea, Sean Tyas and many others.

Founded in June 2003 by Armin Van Buuren (AR), Maykel Piron (MA) and David Lewis (DA), Amsterdam-based Armada Music does more than just release music, listing artist management, DJ bookings, publishing, and music and events among its strengths.

The label currently has 13 different sub-labels representing every type of music from Trance to House. "It's not that it's important to have many different genres under one umbrella," Maykel explains, "It's just important to be able to release quality music. It basically means we can release a house track or a techno track - whatever - if we love it, then we have the opportunity to release it."

that cd has got some nice tunes on it, however as jolz mentioned, none of them are really new.

man when trance was huge in 99 - shit like travelling etc had k00ta choonz on em - but they werent all spankin new.

its like if you went to dome or run or something - the tunes werent state 2 minute old tunes.

like yeah i think i have just bout every tune on that - but fark it i see that as a good thing...i wont buy it but its ceedees like this that get new people into it - and they are kinda enjoyable sometime imo

yeah, jules' right on the money. this CD is hardly aimed at people like ardent DJs who scour all new releases for the latest tracks, but for casual listeners who might not have heard them all.

Hehehe good point Jules. We spend all our time scoping tunes so we know most of what's out there. We look at that track list and thank "how is any of that new?" Most of that is aimed at the general public. To them, they see "Trance" and can probably identify with 5 or even 10 of those tunes which makes them buy it. The rest seems to be pot luck as to what you get.

I can now identify with most of that track list but a year ago I wouldn't even know 25% of what's on there.
