Why has Platipus Records gone so ****?

They signed children back in 95 and used to release world class stuff by the likes of art of trance and POB...
now all we get is tekara ft. xan - wanna be an angel

Why oh why? what went wrong?

I guess it's just another sign of how shit trance has gotten over the years.

True dat

However, check out Greg Murray's - Ursa Majoris on Platipus. It's really a great little number

Tekara Feat. Xan - Wanna Be An Angel is one of my favourite tracks to be released in 2004, and I'd personally put it down as the best thing PLatipus have released in a long time. I like it as it reminds me of the mid 90's UK vocal trance sound, similar to that of X-Avia - Dreaming from 1997.

But with that aside, in general they haven't really releaed anything worthy of note. All of the "Platipus Euro" stuff just sounds somewhat generic IMO. Which is a shame, as several of my all time favourite tracks were released by them back in the day, such as Loveclub - The Journey, Art Of Trance - Madagasga and POB Feat. X-Avia - The Awakening. However, they are one of the few Brittish Trance/Progressive House labels from the mid 90's that are still in existance. The likes of Stress, Jackpot, Skinnymalinky, Steel Fish etc. all dissapeared off the face of the earth many years ago.

definately the worst tune released on platipus and the worst tune matt darey has ever done IMO! it's just plain horrible crap! compare this to "tekara - breathe in you"
no competition really! plaipus really used to release lots of great stuff! i love the old platipus sound and think it's fucking great, but the new direction doesn't seem to be that good although some of the newer releases are good IMO!

I happen to like the song. Not the style that I would normally go for when I listen to trance, but I like it just the same.

That's an ace tune for sure!

However, my favorite all time Platipus tune has to be Union Jack - Red Herring. Masterpiece!!

AMbassador - The Fade
Dawnseekers - Gothic Dream
Moogwai - Viola

rah - pole position/7/glow/wave

I think youer being a bit selective cos they released credible stuff such as leama - melodica, jamnesia - she's my friend, and indiana - do you hear me around the same time as the tracks in the 2nd part fo your list.

Unhappy

Man, I am really suprised you guys are slagging off "Wanna Be An Angel" - that is a fantastic track, never realised it was hated that much!

Nothing is wrong with Platipus at all, although they have been quiet of late, they still have Moogwai signed and they have Jezper Soderlund signed under his "Rah" guise...
