Guitar synths?

Anyone know of any vsts that can replicate a guitar sound similar to the style of gabriel and dresden??

They probably recorded a real guitar for that track. I was wondering the same thing though, is there a good guitar VSTi? Did anyone try Steinberg Virtual Guitarist or reFX Slayer 2?

I got Kontakt 2 and I was hoping it would have some good guitar samples, but I was disappointed with the amount and quality of the guitar patches.

P.S. Just realized that reFX has a demo for Slayer 2, I'm going to check it out.

^^ that could easily come from RealGuitar. That has a pretty good sound for acoustic guitars, IMO. Virtual Guitarist 2 is also pretty sweet as it's editable to get a better sound and play custom riffs.

Guitar is one instrument which vsts really can't emulate, there are just too many different techniques for it... It is quite easy to play though so if you want to use it regularly maybe you should consider learning?

Anyway, even though I play guitar, I still love slayer. The reason being that it sounds nothing like a guitar! Sounds great for big dirty electro type sounds though, so I enjoy it every now and then.

I actually thought Kontakt was the best emulation of an acoustic guitar that I had heard to date, but if your after electric then I don't know anything that will give you a really authentic sound, most people do prefer to use a real guitar than vsts.
