BEFORE YOU READ: can i remix this?
well:
i really like the feel of the whole track (yes, i DID listen to it all..) there are some flaws, but if you went back to work on em, the length of the song wouldn't be much of a 'drawback'. To tell you the truth, the song was interesting. Interesting enough for me to leave it on repeat :P (yes, i'm still listening to it)
Alot of the synths sound good, other's sound out of place, some of them i'm indifferent to... it all balances out, however.
What i don't really like (even though, i'm guessing it's the grand finale of the track), is the beginning of the ladder part of the track... the strings you used were too hollow. But the main synth makes up for that dramatically. the ENDING of the track was kind of disappointing, sounded like PPK - Resurrection.
more;
---------------------------------------------------------------------
the downs:
the percussion kind of drags (maybe because of the tempo).... i feel as if the bassdrum is too 'heavy', but the rest of the percussion, i like it.
2:53 & 5:59 - the fx used there wasn't all that good... the volume was too loud, too.
the break at around 9:50 is no bueno, the kick is doesn't go with the style that you're trying to create... you should've gotten a much lighter kick
the ups:
synth used at 4 minutes is nice... really nice...
the moving pad in the back, though a little 'empty', fits the track perfectly
i really like the areas around 8:20
P.S. Are you sad? 'cause that's what i interpeted (sp?) through the song...

You can remix this. PM me
Well the story is kinda silly lol but there was starfall a while back and my friends went to see it without asking me if I wanna go.
I was a bit offended. It's all gone now
More over I'm always a bit melancholic.
What sounds are out of place?
About the strings: I just used some of atmosphere's strings.
What should I add?
I'd prefer a real violin though.

you have atmosphere? lucky bastard
anyways, get Edirol's Orchestral for real-life strings... really good stuff.
edit: MY PM's don't seem to be going through. So, how can we speak of Remixing details... i'm really, really interested

Well, it took you a long time to finish this track, but it shows.. Easily your best track so far, both in terms of production as well as melody/harmony.
My only gripe would be that the kick is rather heavy, but I know you like them that way.
Also, the transition from the breaks section round about the eleven minute mark does not seem to work too well, it feels too sudden. I'd add a big whoosh or some crashes there to smoothen the transition.
Personally I would have left out the last part, starting from the violin section @ 14:25. I love the harmony and all, but that part does not seem to connect very well with the other parts of the track, it feels like the beginning of a completely new track. Ironically that's the part I based my remix on, hehe. A remix I desperately need to finish by the way, lol. Thanks for reminding me with this thread
Anyway, good work.

Hey,
20 minutes? holy shit
commenting while listening...
Nice groove in the beginning.
The kick is heavy, a tad too heavy as the others said. It's making the track sluggish, dont know if you wanted it that way.
The closed drive hihat starting at 1:36 is a bit too static and dominant, might be interesting with some resonant filter sweeps to it.
Sine synths are cool.
Some nicely evolving melodies then, but I think things get a little boring and without direction at the 5 minute mark.
Now at 6:00 the break, it was needed. Another slow buildup..
...but now, here comes the Acidline. Very well done. Authentic trippy 303 sound, like it a lot!
Now time for another breakbeat, like said would be better with a less heavy kick. Might use a different kick for the break.
Then at the 11 minute mark the beat starts a little too abruptly, needs probably a fill.
Solid part now.
Time for a melancholic ambient ending with some mellow strings.
But then were in again for a new dark ending theme, not bad!
I have to say I did not really dig this as much as your other tracks, might be because I am not in the mood for emo/slow stuff right now
Anyways, its well produced, and it got interesting parts, for my taste there are a few passages that could be kept a little shorter.

Listening.
Nice kick, and bass works well.. Percs sounds well layered.. the first melody introduced is cool..
Nice acid.
3:00 Soft strings are introduced..
4:00 Melody progression..
Not too happy with the "double kick" you put in there sometimes..
7:30 Cool acid. i recognise some elements in terms of sounds and percs from you Moon Creatures track, which also is one of the best tracks ive heard coming from here.
9:00 Cool breakbeat.. nice percussion fills.. adds depth to the track.
at 10 minutes you try to do some wierd stuff with the breakbeat, it doesnt work that well.. should have sounded more stuttery.
11:00 we are back with the drive, which is good.
12:00 i like the track now, it has a good drive and the acids are well placed in the background..
14:00 now i expect a new melodic part to finish this track off..
Some strings are introduced, which sounds like it would come from the soundtrack of an X-Files episode.. Strings are very dissonant.. before you change the progression to something more memorial..
Ah.. this is nice.. i love the sounds of the melody now, hairs almost raising on my back.. but i think the breakbeat destroys the moment a bit.. as i could have needed a minute or two too listen to the melody alone..
Overall nice track, good production, sounds very unique and personal, but i think a shorter mix is needed, which brings more from the main part of the track, maybe i`ll do it
Good work though.. good thing u try new stuff, and dont follow the standard route.
Peace.
