I haven't bothered trying to configure anything yet. I have a Zalman 5.1 External USB soundcard and was wondering if i am able to configure it with traktor or mixvibes pro 5/dvs so I could enable monitoring with headphones. This is obviously possible with normal PCI 5.1 soundcards, but how about external USB? I know that the latency will be extremely shit compared to PCI soundcards, but is it possible to assign the channels? Thanks in advance

I'd suggest you try the asio4all drivers...I was able to setup different channels for my integrated piece of junk soundcard a few times, because I didn't want to take the expensive one to some of the clubs...blah...
well...if you get asio4all running with your card, you're halfway there...then just find the output config in traktor and setup what you need...
hmmm ok nice
only reason i'm using the pos usb soundcard is because it's on a laptop and i'm going up to cottage country to chill. I'll try it out thanks!

well try and see...it's not like you're loosing anything...except time maybe?
chances are that it just won't work with the USB card...I dunno...never tried...but it worked with my integrated one...which is really a piece of shit.

Yeah, because asio4all isn't the best set of asio drivers, just the next best thing if the drivers that came with your card suck or if you have a shitty card.

I'm having the same problem using my Dell M50 Laptop. I heard that there was a way to change the Line-In or Mic inputs to 2ch outputs. Will these drivers do the same?

My friend mentioned if it's possible to change the mic input into a second channel output, that would be pretty killer.

i've had my decks hooked up to my external usb sound card for a long time and have had no problems at all.
