Advice for a newby?

Hi everyone ^^
I must admit, I've never really listened to electronic music, but lately I've been strangely attracted to it... the bad thing is that here not many people listen to it, so I need your guidance... What should I listen, what are the "must listen" artists for a newby?
thanks :P (Excuse my horrid english :P)

I'd suggest you check out all the genres and decide what you do and don't like. Theres some quite unique stuff on the earlier Dream Dance cds. I'd also suggest checking out Last.fm and using the similar artists feature if you don't know many people.

HBR1.com
Listen to all the streams there, every day for a week or two...and write down artists you like.

Then do a search here for those names and you will likely fine lots of "oh if you like that group, check this one out" posts.

Then start downloading

Ishkur has a great guide to EDM on his website. I know he gets a lot of flak here for dissing Trance on the guide, but it is very informative, with samples of well-known songs from each genre.

Check it out
