im gonna finally bite the bullet soon and get me a pair of studio monitors, since im a bit displeased with the way home stereo systems sound, but im really curious which would be better. the 6.5''s or the 5''s with the sub. ive listened to the 620's and really liked them, so im pretty much assuming that the 520s sound pretty good but once i decide, will want to check them out before. anybody give these little guys a listen?

i mainly spin drum n bass as of late and the sub would be nice...but the 620's seem to have enough bass to where i can still here the basslines, but a tad bit more would be better. the sub would obviously be soley for that. the 620's also sound really nice with the detailed mids and highs.

i can probably get either or for around the same price, which is why im a bit lost as to what to pick up. if i were to get the 620's and the rp10s, it would in my opinion be overkill. can't really be blasting all that in an apartment. though i wish you could.

what would you fellow TAs pick up?

ive got a pair of 520s and im very happy with them. for dnb you'd probably definatley want a sub to go with them, i personally dont have one but i could maybe get one later, but atm im very happy with them alone.

how do you find the overall sound on the 520s?

i know with smaller speakers, at high volumes they tend to over-push themselves. how do the 520s size up at higher volumes? also, i know you can tweak the settings to have the speakers sound good in different room settings, do the adjustments make a noticeable difference?

i find they they are loud enough for me. i use them for production not djing tho, so it depends how loud you like to play. i am mega happy with my purchase tho. would definately buy them again unless i had a much bigger budget, i paid £130 for the pair. the adjustment stuff does make a difference and are useful if your speakers are in awkward positions.
