Smile You wonderful veteran producers please help me control a hardware synth in logic 7

First of I am a complete novice when it comes to hardware so please don't flame me if I say something stupid.
I recently bought a few used hardware synths on ebay :
Specificaly: A virus b, a yamaha tx81z (Fm synth from the mid 80's), A novation drum station (808,909 rack mount emulator) and a korg triton rack.

The 20 year old yamaha synth arrived and I hooked it up to my computer via my motu soundcard using a 1/4'' to 1/4'' cable.

I hooked up the midi out from the soundcard to the midi in of the synth.
Now in logic
-I went to the Environment page to assign the midi track to that port.
It gave a few options that I don't really know (instrument, multi iinstrument, and mapped instrument.
-I created a multi instrument from the options sending information out on channel 1.

On the synth I picked a nice bass preset, specifically a preset called ''lately bass''.
That is on bank C, sound 15.

Here is the problem:
Whenever I start the sequence over to record the track as audio, it switches to Bank A sound 1
I have no idea what causes that because I do not have access to the hardware synth manual because like I said it's 20 years old (I got it for $60)
You guys are my last hope...
Any help will be tremendously appreciated

It seems Logic is sendin bank select and program change messages to the synth when you start the sequence. You need to filter these messages out or select none for the bank and program on that track. Not sure how that is done in Logic (I'm Cubase user myself) but I'm sure you will find it.

cant be assed to take a photo of my screen so here is one from google image search (ignore the numbers- I told you it was a random pic):

Select the track
You need to uncjeck the box next to PRG (the one with 33 next to it in the pic).
This is your program change box-and if this box is on, it will send out that prog change every time you stop/start it.

Simple as that.
Dont start fucking about with other logic settings if you dont know what they do- you could potentially end up in a whole heap of crap... seriously.

Oh- and dont forget to unshade all of the channels on the multi object on the environment page

The tx81z is a beast of a synth- for bass especially...
It is a 4 op FM synth, and very very similar to the DX21

Thank you and Mikk for taking the time to help me get rid of that program change.
It's now working fine, you were right.
And thank you xenpro for giving me access to the manual.
All the best to all of you.
