One reason I enjoy the docks is cause it's quite versatile as a venue, every party feels different from the last. This one was no exception, as the 'mid-room' vibe they created worked quite well for the night.
My first time seeing King Sunshine live and though I'm not familiar with their work I certainly can appreciate a live performance. Great energy, drums and the whole bit, enjoyed it all!
I dug Farina's short but sweet mushroom jazz set, always good to hear that side of him...but quickly he turned up the tempo and before long he was full on into his bumpity bump tech funk thing that he does. To be honest I couldn't name more than 3 tracks he dropped, but the layering with all the vocals and samples was fantastic
M&F kept 'er goin' right after and didn't skip a beat, good job! Didn't catch much of the side room, only here and there throughout the night...as always it's the people around you that make a party, no shortage of that for this night. And I too would like to see the million and one pics taken on that camera, lol.
This party did me in, see ya @ industry summer magic...

go there pretty early and the bit of King Sunshine I heard was fun.
then the powering through countless double vodka + sodas took it's toll and, after apparently making quite the spectacle of myself (details are unnecessary for those who witnessed the carnage, thanks, lol), I was passed out at home in my bed by the time Farina even came on.
I'd be more upset if I hadn't heard him at both Sonic and Stereo in the last 12 months or so, I guess...but that was a pretty ridiculous, overboad night for me.
what did I learn? drugs > alcohol
alcohol is the devil.

After everybody met at my place we headed over early to catch King Sunshine. No drama getting in, place looked great and was pretty empty - was worried if it would be a busy night.
King Sunshine was a lot of fun, but after a bit I got distracted taking care of my drunk friends. See post above.
:P
After putting said friend into a cab, got back inside and Farina had already picked it up and was his usual self. I really enjoyed the set, but couldn't get into it. I left right after he finished up. I guess I was still a bit tired from BEB the week before. I also found the vibe a bit weird with the crowd. Couldn't really put my finger on what it was, but something was lacking.
Still had a really good time with Graham (really glad you came out buddy). Friends (even drunk fools) really make up for most of the enjoyment of parties.
