Yeah ive had more then one pair of headphones face death by sitting...
Personally im thinking of picking up some Sony MDR 7506 after work today because they seem to get really solid reviews in the headphone thread. Just not sure about the non swiveling ear pieces, i used to use some of the 500's for listening purposes and i really enjoyed the swiveling ear pieces..

i highly recommend the Technics RPDH-1200 (the new ones). Sound is absolutely stunning, output is exactly what one needs for a club setting, freq range is right up there with all the top of hte lines...not much more you can ask for with these. some people dont like the build as it feels a bit heavy at first, although to me it's just an indication of how sturdy they are. truly built like a tank...
Guys if money is not a big deal go for the Sony MDR 7509 not 7506.
Virtually the same but has a slightly larger driver (50mm as opposed to 40mm) and therefore slightly larger dynamic range.
The main difference though it doesn't have that really budget, tacky looking band, with exposed metal expander. I find they sit better and they are even more comfy. Only downside is they weigh about 300g.
Also I have used them in various monitoring situations from post production to radio processing and they really are pro spec.
Very useful if your making music and have annoying neighbours who don't like 130db Progressive Trance at 2am.

seen 2 pairs of two different people who treated them reall well... snap within a month of purchase.
perhaps this was a bad batch at first, but i don't trust em because of that.
There's a massive headphones thread, search before you ask a question like this, do you honestly think this is the first time this has been asked on a forum like this?

Denon DN-HP1000 headphones. I've had them in the summer and so far no problems. One guy I know snapped his but mine haven't The sound quality is great, very clear and loud. They aren't the most comfortable, but they aren't uncomfortable either. Good bass response.
