Warped Vinyl Quick Fix

This worked for me but there has to be something wrong with it.

I have some vinyl I don't use and I had a record that was semi warped. I took 3 pieces of vinyl that I don't use, took the slipmat off my techs and put the warped one under the other 3 and left them over night.

Bam, strait as an arrow.

Bad Idea?

Well if the record was unusable before and now its fixed there's not much more that could go wrong

nice idea, I've got some great vinyls that are warped, I'll give it a try tonight and report back

To be honest, not sure why it would work, I've squashed vinyls under medical text books (a good couple of kilos) for a week before and no improvement......

My warping was minor. I would describe it as a noticeable rise and fall from the tonearm, but it was obvious the vinyl wasn't strait.

I think the key is the amount of time you let it sit there. The larger the warping the more time you need. Though I have to wonder if its even possible to fix heat/major warping because the vinyl has been stretched, BUT this should work for those minor waves in your wax.

Let me know what happens with you guys.

In my experience this is almost impossible to accomplish. Often times you end up bending the part of the vinyl that you used to support your thumbs.

there *may* be an improvement, but its kinda hard to tell. Gonna leave it for another 24 hours or maybe over the weekend and see what happens.

(this is a decent warp, I might put another one on the other deck that has a smaller wave)
