this friday i'm gonna be flying from providence to nashville!
so i was wondering, how anal are they usually at the airports about music stuff?
caz i got my cd player, my big-ass dj headphones, and a 32-CD case. will they let me carry those into a plane, or should i just forget about it?
also: will they try to disassemble any of my stuff to see if i have tried to hide a bomb or some shit like that in there? caz i remember last year a guy was VERY suspicious about my tiny headphone plugs.

I think you won't have any probs...
I remember when I got my first MK2 from the UK and I took it with me IN the cabin cause I was afraid to send it with the luggage... And when we changed plane at athens it wouldn't fit in the box above your head so I had to carry it on my legs...
...memories
Travelling is not that big a deal. They will not harass you, you don't have to show up hours before. It's not what they've made it out to be. The worst is a pat down and make you turn any electronic equipment ON to proove it actually functions.
Have travelled many a times through US airports since Sept 11. No problems at all with headphones, mp3 players, laptop computers, cell phones.
you shouldn't have any probs...
i just flew last month and i didn't have any probs with my vinyl, cds, laptop, mp3 player, and all the rest of my shit i brought with me on the plane
Hey, i just flew from d.c to florida for Ultra. You can bring cd player with you in your hand dude. dont worry about that. Juss stick it in your bag that your gonna carry on with you, cuz u can usually bring 2 bags with you. (if its a very small plane, u can only bring 1 bag) B4 entering the plane, every airport has a person dat pulls random people out from the line to get into the plane to do a check. They will check insides your bags mainly for drugz. They wont mess with your cd player, at most they mite ask you to take the batteries out. Which i highly doubt. You are good , dont worry, u just gotta wait till the plane has gone up a certain height in the air b4 u can turn your music on. They will inform u of all that.

While we're on the subject...
I've never flown in an airline before (I've jumped out of more planes than I've landed in ) and I'm serious about going to Berlin for the love parade this year...
what policy do airlines have on transporting vast quantities of alcohol (for example if we were to cram 50-100 cans/bottles) in your non-hand luggage?
Do they care? It's just it'll be a struggle to afford this holiday as it is, and I'm not too keen on paying Berlin's prices! (espescially given I can get 15 bottles of Stella for £9 down the road).
Anyone?

Why don't you just put them with the rest of your luggage mate? You wont be able to use them on the plane anyway.

wtf?? takin beer to germany?? thats like takin coals to Newcastle....
I haven't been to Germany for a few yrs, but I think beer will be cheaper than that from off-licence/bottle-shop type things (or petrol stn.) in Germany, it was alot cheaper over there last time I was there. Any Germans wanna tell us price of beer over there......

Skattrd, I live in the North East of England. They virtually give away beer up here.
Newcastle has nightclubs that do 10p a bottle and 20p a pint, and all you can drink deals for £8.
I don't think you'll get much cheaper than that, and that's the clubs...
I do want to try out some German beers, but for saving money, I need to take a lot with me.
So is it OK to take alcohol with you so long as it's not your hand luggage? Cos I've heard they can be a bit iffy about certain items. Some of the laws they have are really weird.
