just remember guys after u have installed cs 1.3 u must have halflife to version 1.1.0.8 < u can download that off some web sites (free again)

What should I do.

if you're planning to play on line with a hax0red game then you're going to also need a cd key generator,and even that might not work. I was lucky, my friend gave me his 1.3 retail copy after he bought Half Life Gold edition.

TranceSeeker once u have extracted the file into the half life directory u load up Half life and there is a menu called custom game, click on that. Now there should be a list of 2 or more games, click on the one that says counter-strike (this hightlights the name) now click on activate. That will load up counter strike (when it has loaded up the backround will change)
If all that works then ur counter strike works fine.

And if i have it I have to install 1.3 into the root of the original? or in a specific directory?

here is a link to the official counter strike web page. 1.3 FULL This is 100mbs so i have set the link to take you to a page that allows you to download from the closest location to you.
