PvD featured in Cisco/Rolling Stone Ads

Paul van Dyk has been selected as a featured artist in a Rolling Stone/Cisco collaboration. PvD posted a bulletin to his MySpace earlier today showing the full spread of the ad that will be in this month's magazine:

There's actually a pretty cool video on Cisco's website of Paul explaining his remote office set up, and posing for PR photo ops:

You must like happy hardcore or something. Good progressive trance is not "exciting" enough for your tastes.

Paul van Dyk is a mastermind innovator in electronic music, he is pushing the boundaries of live remixing just about as far as they go.

IMO, you don't know shit. Get a clue.

One of the reasons I respect Paul in the way I do, is because he is professional - he is not a show-off in any way, he is quite a private person. He is down to earth, up front, and humble - he keeps to himself for the most part, but is a world class talent and a master in the studio. He does not like to take front stage because he doesn't feel he has to prove something (aka the Tiesto concets, the Oakenfold jesus-pose, the Armin pose etc) - he is not a 'poser'

If you're ever been to a PVD show, you will know he has command of the dancefloor from start to finish. He is able to read a crowd, and adapt a live set to cater to his audience - he is very versatile. From his sets at Loveparade, to Gatecrasher, to Ibiza, and to the states, his style varies based on the audience and stage he is playing to. In my opinion,

Tiesto is a good (not great) DJ but a complete show-off, he is decent producer - I think he's a better producer than a DJ. Oakenfold (yes) is indeed a douchebag, and Armin is still young (in the realm of DJing and producing), I think he's a bit commercial and his fame has come from his radio show, where he basically plays all the top 40 trance hits (he isolates himself to be a trance-only DJ) - Armin is a phenomenon that has attracted alot of new (post 2002) fans and they know him for his dancefloor trance sound. Armin's weakness is that he is turning into a Pete Tong and not trying to innovate and be original, when artists such as Paul van Dyk are pressing the cutting edge in that arena.

Just my opinion.
