hey what's up?

my internet has not been running at it's full speed lately.. i just got done calling my dsl company and the guy said he can't help me because my speed is at minimum (3mb). I actually have a 6mb line and it's been running at 5.4-5.8mb for quite soome time now. Anyways... the guy said 'it could be some 3rd party program in the back.' my question is there any software that checks through programs running in the backround that are leeching my internet speed?

run in safe mode with networking enabled.

task manager will show you what services are running

zonealarm firewall will show you what apps are using the internet.

but chances are real problem is dsl sux.

if you actually have DSL and not cable that in there lies your problem. DSL is a shitty connection. it has to go through a lot of wrapping and unwrapping because of the nature of the connection. get rid of it for a cable connection if you can. if not then your sol.
