Drunk Mixmag (please dont kick this to the humor page..i got my m8s here)

In a morning raid on the offices of the leading dance culture magazine Mixmag, 20 police officers and a sniffer dog confiscated 5 filing cabinets and a undisclosed number of computer terminals. The raid at 5:25AM Friday morning was the culmination of a two year investigation by the City of London Police.

In a statement, Detective Peter Fowler said 'The raid went exactly as planned, we entered the building and conducted a search of the premises. As a result 5 standard filing cabinets and a number of Macintosh computers were removed and are being analyzed by a team of detectives, as of yet no charges have been filed'.

Mixmag has published a number of high profile articles on drug use among it's readers. The magazine has caused controversy many times for glamorizing drug use.

When asked if the investigation was in connection with drugs Fowler answered 'No, the investigation is being carried under the obscene publications act of 1976. Some of the material contained within the magazine is obscene, the music reviews, articles on Fergie, Tiesto, Scott Bond the mongo hotline and the recent trend in UK Hard House'.

A representative from Emap publishing released the following statement. 'Over the last 10 years Mixmag has been at the cutting edge of music culture. When Muzik Magazine started to bite at our heals we decided to move in another direction and go with the most popular music and labels. Since we did our circulation has been boosted by 41%. We defend our record on hard house and Fergie, it's what the kids want to hear and what they want to read about. Yes we used to cover what was musically credible, but the world is a different place now. All we want is to get paid'

At his London home Conor McNicholas the ex-editor of mixmag had this to say 'Yeh I left Mixmag in August 2001, it was just getting crazy. When I first started we would run round and be happy to get a bag of pills and complimentary admission from the club. Now the articles go to the highest bidder. Just because 2 million kids munch too many pills and actually think Hard House is good, doesn't mean every article must be about some musically inept penis playing different hoover noises over that same beat. Yeh it sells, but these kids need direction. If a suicidal man wants a knife you don't just blindly give it to him do you?'
We contacted some high ranking figures in the music world for comments;

Dr. Dre, hip hop producer and label owner - 'Yeh man they forgot their root, they sold out. I do like the semi naked chick picture in the back though'

Lisa Lashes - 'I don't see any harm in it, I love the people at Mixmag. Only the other day I went over to deliver a new BMW as a present from Tidy Trax'

Fergie, hard house DJ- 'Yeah since Tony de Vit died they have been really good to me, the kids know what they want. Be it Trace, Hard House or Happy Hardcore it's all good to me, just remember to bring me a pill I can't fooking stand the music I play sober'

Kid Rock, comedian - 'Yeh the Mongo hotline is really funny (in Germany). What could be funnier than a load of mashed up 15 year old coming home and ranting on about nothing when their head isn't even in gear?'

Bill Gates - 'I gave people something they didn't even know they wanted and it changed the way people think. After seeing the success of Mixmag I will now be giving people exactly what they want! Big tits, Judge Jules and gurners'

Mike Manumission club promoter- 'Mixmag is great, what we do is follow what they print. They do their homework! It's great because when you have to fill a club that holds 10,000 people you need to know what the kids like to listen to on drugs, that's where Mixmag comes in'

Judge Jules Radio 1 DJ- 'Fergies my mate, we go on holiday together and everything. Oh wait Mixmag, erm yeh I like it. Somebody in the public eye like me is gonna get criticism, I take it in my stride. Do you want a slap?

Bezz from the Happy Mondays - 'eh?'

Justin Timberlake - 'Who cares, I fucked Britney'

Random clubber - 'Yeh man, mixmags is fresh man. Some of the stories are good, but I mostly use it to have a wank when I get back from Gatecrasher, oy oy! You tried those new Mitsubisies?'

Still there is alwasy Muzik.
