usually i tell people that they should really consider how into DJing are they.

If you're REALLY into djing, and you are 100% positive that you wont quit... then save up for those expensive tables.

Otherwise if you just want try.. and ur not sure yet... i'd suggest you go with cheaper tables. If you end up liking it... you can save up to buy Technics or just use with what you got. You dont need a good turntable for mixing Trance/House. A Gemini/Stanton is sufficient enough to do that.

HOwever, what I do recommend is to save up for a GOOD mixer. Avoid the crap mixers because they might have horrible sound quality and durability.

This is assuming ur on a budget and you wanted to consider Money vs Investment. Sure, everyone will say get the best turntable out there, but what if you dont end up liking it and u get Technics? They do have high resale value, but I'd rather avoid the pain of reselling as it gets very cumbersome as you're trying to get the most bang for ur turntables.

Conclusion: So consider how much u are a willing to spend vs how interested ur into djing. Being a DJ is a VERY expensive hobby. For dinner, I eat instant ramen and drink filtered water just to save up for those vinyls heh

Hello!

My advice to you BTG is find somebody who has got some tables and play on them and see if it is something that you want to invest in. Talk to people and see if they have any hand me downs, that is how I started, and they were belt drive. Belt drive does suck and they are really hard to mix on, but at least you will get the feel for things. When you decide if you want to make the investment or not, save up for some technics. I know everybody says well I don't have that much money....save up for them, and remember good things come to those who wait...if it takes a year to save up the money, then that is what it takes. I think you will be happier in the long run if you do it like that.

Bear

Stanton STR8-80:
US $250 EACH
http://hollywooddj.com/stantonstr880.html

Gemini PT-2410
US $240 EACH
http://hollywooddj.com/geminipt2410.html

Vestax PDX - A1s
US $300 EACH
http://hollywooddj.com/vestaxpdxa1s.html

Or if you want some cheap decks(but pretty good), you can check these out:
Stanton STR8-60
US $180
http://hollywooddj.com/stantonstr860.html

Gemini SA-600
US $190
http://hollywooddj.com/geminisa600.html

1. Choose a pair of decks that you want
2. Go to www.123dj.com
3. Find the same decks(they will probably be cheaper)
4. Go to www.hollywooddj.com
5. Ask www.hollywooddj.com to beat 123dj's price(they will also give you a $25 discount)

PS. If you can't buy techs, I would recomend Stanton STR8-80, pretty good TTs

Peace

If ya can't find anyone with decks I would suggest even trying out a computer program like PCDJ. This might help ya formulate a bit more of an opinion, but ya I would definitely find someone with gear for you to try.
