Alright... let's give this rmx a listen.

I'll admit that I haven't heard the original.

Strong kick. I like it zZounds. So far, it sounds fairly happy sounding and the smooth bass is very soft and communicates the light, airy mood well alongside the elements. Then there's this ripping chord change that elevates the track from sounding 'too angelic'. You might want to compress the thud of the kick just a tad more when when the other elements are blaring.

Good acid sweeps and lines. One thing you've got going for you is that the elements seem to blend well together in some way or another. Now we've got some plucked saws dinging their way to life in the mid-breakdown. It is a long breakdown, but these pads are pretty good.

Things really grow on me after the breakdown. At first, I was going to pass this off as sounding too cheesy for my tastes, but I really have to give you some credit for a few things. The mood seems to flip over from happy cheesy to cool seemlessly with an atmosphere that is memorable. The mixing is competint, and the pads are a thing to behold.

Cheers, you've made my "above mediocrity" list.

this is the 2nd remix of this on these boards ive heard

the kick and hats sound very nice and crisp
nice sounds used for the bassline and nice synth
yeah its a bit cheesy but it fits in well with the song and the melody
the breakdown is nice
nice buildup back to the kick
all the sounds are really nice and clear, i really like the mixing/mastering on this track

the song just lacks something
i think its a really good sounding song but it just doesnt do it for me for some reason

Thanks for the comments, this was the first remix I've tried and I'm still trying to improve my productions sound-wise, so it's good to hear. I will be posting some original material in the near future so it will be interesting to hear your thoughts!

Cheers.

This is actually very good. There was a recent remix competition, did you enter this one into it?

Everything is sounding crisp and clear. On hearing this, the only thing i would alter is the amount of bass prevalent in the track. It seem to lack any bite on the lower end of the freq. spectrum.

Otherwise, great effort.

Paul

Thanks Paul
No, it didn't get entered, I got a bit lazy and didn't get it done in time!
As for the bass, I do think that's the bit I struggle most with in all the tracks I make, just need to practice a bit more I think.

nice flanger fx at the start, cool arpy sounds...

the openhats sounds a little too sharp imo..

i like the melodies and the bassline, i dont know the original though..
the mastering of the treble could have been done better, the tune sounds to sharp/high in treble..

overall was a nice listen,

greetz,

Bidor
