Alex Barretta - C'mon

I started producing my own tracks about 3 months ago and this is really one of the first productions I'm really proud of. I spin alot of tribal houe but starting from trance and I think this track has influences from both. Anyways you can take a listen to it on my myspace page : www.myspace.com/djalexbarretta

It's quite minimal and could definately do with some more percussive elements.
When you bring the track back in at 2:40ish you could possibly look for a bit of a bang rather than just resume it.
Everything also sounds very central in the mix so you may want to experiment with some panning.

It's very hard to say that what this needs as what you have at the moment doesn't really define any particular style that you are trying to acheive.

The one thing that this could benefit from is a bassline, then where ever you take this track is really up to you.

At the moment to minimal for my liking and perhaps a little to rigid. It needs a bit of funk, something that would make people want to dance to it as that is seriously lacking at the moment.

Saying that, for three months I would say that you are definately on the right track.

Cheers
Nem

thnks for the no bullshit response. I made it on sony acid 6.0 using the samples that came in the cd and changed the fu** out of the stock samples into what I kinda wanted them to sound like. The only outside samples I used were the vocals which were included in the Mark Knight & Dave Spoon - Sylo as a dj tool on the record. Im looking foward to buying some more software to make more professional productions. Im looking into Cubase, or Reason 3.0 and I already have ableton but I cant figure out how to use that to save my life. I hope to improve my skills and come back with a better track soon!
