My Demo CD

Well, i just quickly recorded this..it's quite short .. just about 35 mins .. the tracklist is

RMB - Deep Down Below (DJ Mellow D mix)
Nu NRG - Dreamland
Ralphie B - Massive
Solid Sleep - Club attack (Junk project mix)
Thrill Seekers - Synasthesia(?) (PVS Dub)
Madelyne - Beautiful Child (4 strings mix)

The mix was alright.. considering the fact that i broke my Headphones and now having to use some really screwed up infrared wireless headphones (which always go quiet when i pull out some moves). Anyway, i think it's better to make short demo cd since the clubowners won't be sitting down and listen to a 70 mins mix cd. Any thoughts?

Yeah but don't give them the impression that you're trying to do a short mix just so you can minimise any mistakes throughout the mixtape. Generally though I think a mixtape should be 60 to 70 minutes long with about 8 or 9 decent tracks in there. Any comments?

you should try to record the whole set.. its not to hard to listen to a whole hr demo cd.. plus since its on cd you can fast fwrd to different tracks.. i used to be a promoter for a rave event crew and we usually listened to the whole disc of dj's that submitted work.. unless it really sucked, then it goes in the trash! you can't always tell what you can do if you only mix like 5 songs together. and we were usually expecting that the songs you do throw on the demo are like your best most impressive shit at the time you recorded it, so if your only gonna put 5 or 6 songs, make sure they are damn good, or explain to the promoter that this is just an example from your set.
