classic i cant place - update 2
tried to replicate the sound in a simpler way. the synth sound was like barbers adagio for strings and a similar tempo (when the adagio takes off). i would forget the reference to the video, i think it might be a red herring.

i have uplaoded an mp3 with me trying to play the tune but its on pretty rudimentary equipmet as opposed to a synth so it sounds crap. dont know if it will help.

i got dragged along to see lionel richie the other nite in sheefield (actually he was quite good !) bit close to the end in on of his own sonfs he put a trance break in !! bizarre. and i cant recall what the song is, its a classic but i have a mental block. hard to describe really but it starts with a a synth (no other backing) the only way i can describe is:

like i say, its a classic but i cant place it. poss late 90's. i might be wrong but the video had either a spaceman or spaceship in it !!!! how mad am i ??????????? i cant be sure but it might be jurgen vries is it ? (stab in the dark that one tho)i was a mega tune in the late 90's i'm sure. if lionel richie has heard it must have been massive.
