Smiley DJ Superstar D.J's.....

am I the only one rarely, if ever, listens to their albums ? Personally I prefer listening to the amateur and up and coming contributers that are going around. On that note the standard of sets/mixes that are on this site are of the highest order. Give yourselves a pat on the back for all your hard work and ingenuity.
I for one, fully appreciate all your efforts . Magic site - classy D.J's.

Depends who it is. I'll give an album a whirl, but I've found quality of work trending down over the past 5 years. Of course, my tastes have evolved also.

Yes there are a lot of talented contributors on this forum. Best place to find new music, imo.

There is very little that can be done by the big guys that people on here can't do just as well, if not better.

They were just lucky and got in the game earlier.

As for tracks, it's not so true, but there certainly is no shortage of ideas and future talent.

LOL! Don't be a douché, most of the producers/djs on here work their arse off doing what they do, they eat, sleep and dream the music they mix and make.

They will have college/university and jobs as well no doubt. They are very devoted to their hobby.

They certianly aint short of talent either. I'd put good money on a lot of dj's here such as DJ BAS, Rob Turner, Hai Lee Chen, to name but a few could given the chance mix the shit out of most big name djs.

As for producers, so many artists are signable/have been signed it's unreal, you got Mr Mystery, who gave a whole album for free, diginut, derrivate, sunquest, serotonin, the list is endless. All of whomb make incredbile music. And they are making pretty much fuck all from it.

So that covers hard work, devotion and talent.

What is left?

Knowing the right people. And that is luck really, being born like 10-20 years befor most of us meant they were around when things started to take shape, they were there to jump on the train.

Seriously, you could prolly never buy another mix cd in your life and only download of Trance addict and you'd get persistent quality mixes week in week out.

Being born 20 years earlier is making it easier. However networking and knowing the right people is something you can learn. There are tons of books and courses about networking. In the end you have to get out and meet dj/promoters/producers, take a job at the local club or organise your own parties to get noticed.

or you could wear skimpy outfits and flash your boobies like some of the female "djs"

credit where credit is due, the big guns deserved everything that they got. i'd like to see a changing of the guard.

i agree there is alot of good up and coming talent with as much talent and skill as the superstars but, when it all comes down to it. the ones that are going to be remember by the masses are the ones that make the right contacts and work their ass off in self promotion. they cant just sit around and complain that no one recognizes their talent. and i see that too often, its all up to them. no one cares as much about what you do or love as you do (the artist). so next time you see someone up and coming with alot of talent down in the dumps that no one knows them. give them some encouragement and remind them that no matter what, no one will love what they do as much as they do. and that the trick is being able to persuade others to see what you love as you (the artist) does.
support good music

Well-known people in any industry are usually better at what they do than are those who aren't. Of course, there are always plenty of exceptions to go around, but they will usually either remain or sort themselves out. In almost any industry, including music, people become more successful as a result of raw talent, work ethic, and some small dash of other factors like luck and outside help. Those who have at least the first two will almost always rise to the top eventually (no one was born a famous DJ or a professional athlete).

That being said, in this specific case, there's nothing wrong with, and, in fact, it's a very good idea to spend time listening to the work of all sorts of different people--famous and otherwise.
