For my very first gig (which was like 3 months ago) I had agreed to use these since it was my buddy's equipment and he was bringing all his gear. I had played on them a couple times at his house before and, like already said, the platter and cue system are really awkward. So I play my first couple tunes of the night on vinyl and just stick in my first cd to cue it up on the Technics. Then the headliner comes with his CDJ800's and asks if we can switch them. I casually tell him "sure", but on the inside I was relieved and incredibly happy. So I pop out the cd, switch to the Pioneer's, and my whole set went off perfectly.
I've now played on high end Pioneer, Denon, and Technics cd decks. In my opinion the Pioneer and Denon are both quality decks, while the Technics shits the bed.
