A couple 2x4s. Some plywood squares. Paint. Felt? Auralex MoPADs (They're somewhat useful for sound insulation, and they make it so you can angle your monitors up/down or level)?

I dunno. Thats what I did. They look pretty too, because I hot glued some river rocks at the base of the stands for greater stability and spiritual balance.

Add some nice house plants to your control room too. They're just as good as crappy "sound treatment" foam, but they're prettier, and zen. Sure they might rattle a little bit with a lot of low frequencies, but who cares.

Got any pictures of yours? Perhaps it will inspire me.

The reason I'm wanting them is more so that I can raise them up, not necessarily for "sound treatment". I just want them at the proper angle. The thing is, I use them for both producing and DJing, but when I produce, I sit down, and when I DJ, I stand up.

As for your other suggestions, I did have some plants in there and I really liked what it added to the room... but I neglected them and they died off. I have one hanging vine-type plant that has survived but I need to put some new ones in there and stop ignoring them, lol.

Plants are like mute kids. It's hard to keep them from dying.

Thanks for reminding me! I need to water mine when I get home.

I'll post some pictures when I get home.

If you want to make it adjustable you totally could. A little bit of imagination and you could build some fab looking adjustable wooden stands. All your engineer friends will be jealous... or just give you funny looks.
