Hey Everybody. n00b alert, haha

Just wanted to introduce myself to all you guys! I know these types of threads are kinda boring but this is a really cool forum I'd like to become a part of.

My name is Nathan and I've just been getting into composing my own Electronica tracks in FL studio.

I was wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on what I've been doing so far, I have a few tracks in different styles.

Any advice would be welcomed and appreciated!

Thanks guys, I look forward to listening to all of your tunes as well!

You have your own style, which is cool; not really my bag, but yeah.
"Charles noooo. Get out of my head charles." made me rofl.

Welcome to the forum son.

Haha, thanks guys. I never expected the Charles one to end up becoming a full song, haha.

Since this is primarily a Trance forum, and my most "Trance" song on there is "get Out", what do you guys think I should improve on? I'm not worried about melody or anything, I know a healthy amount of theory and the like, but any opinions on my structure, synths, drums sounds?

Just trying to make the most quality stuff I can!

Do you really want to sound like a generic trance artist? lol...

Regardless, you do need to clean up your synth work. Your melodies aren't "BAD", you've just used lame sounds.

You are musically gifted, thats for sure. Not being ironic here! In a wierd way I really like the experimental sound of your tracks. I mean, I don't find this noobish at all. Of course the challenge will be getting EQ and compression right. Other than that - Well done.

Yea, I've been working on the eq and stuff, I've been having trouble finding my own ound and stuff but I'll leave that to me and won't bug you guys for advice

I have a question though. I've been finding some pretty good free synths like Synth1 and I was wondering where I can find some more. Because I'm just a kid and I don't have a job or anything so I can't afford a lot of the professional ones. Thanks.

The best place for info on all kinds of stuff and more importantly links to the download pages for synths, is KVR AUDIO.

Hope this helps!
