Arrow How to manipulate with voice like in YearZero?

How to manipulate with voice such as Andy Moor did in YearZero?
What software does he use to do such voice effects?

Process the vocal with Autotune/Gsnap or some other pitch corrector to get that robotic sound. And then do alot of manual slicing to create the stuttering effect. There's no software that can do it automatically.

you can do this with any softsampler, like Kontakt, Sampler, Halion, EXS24... not sure that NNXT has a controllable sample start, though. You need two things basically, a full verse or chorus loaded in the sampler, an arpeggiator with a /8 or 16 clock and some basic synth techniques.

this way you can easily chop and stutter ANY vocal automatically.

EDIT: Just tried with NNXT and a matrix seq, you can modulate the sample start with velocity, and it works.

L.

This qualifies as a stuter edit right? I do stuff like this occasionally (not as well as andy obviously) but I find it easier to do in an editor than in a sampler, I really like the chopped up vocal in megashira by Marc Marberg and Kyau and Albert, its really cool the way they've done that, and the way they bring in the dry vocal over the top is a really nice contrast too. What are peoples thoughts on sampler vs editor for stutter edits etc?

I did some stutter edits in in Reason using NN-XT back when I didn't have Cubase. It worked, but I find it easier to do it in Cubase with the cut tool than using a sampler. That way you can be more creative, like processing each slice differently.
